Tom Coburn's withdrawal from the gang of six working on the budget/debt ceiling crisis is a bad sign.  I was never convinced that he was committed to the process, but now he certainly is not.  He probably came under heavy pressure from his fellow Republicans to drop out.  They probably plan to push the debt ceiling issue to the limit. Taxes are too low; spending is too high.  Spending should be more stimulative and less for old people. As I said, I don't really care.   Blumenthal supports veterans and looks favorably on Vietnam service.  In that respect he is a welcome change from the majority of Americans who still despise Vietnam service. First, I'm more upset that Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Dick Cheney were draft dodgers, just like Blumemthal was.
